What Seest Thou?

” [looking away from all that will distract us and] focusing our eyes on Jesus, who is the Author and Perfecter of faith [the first incentive for our belief and the One who brings our faith to maturity], who for the joy [of accomplishing the goal] set before Him endured the cross, disregarding the shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God [revealing His deity, His authorityů, and the completion of His work]” – Hebrews 12:2 (AMP)

With so many distractions in the world today, focusing on the things that matter tend to become challenging at times. However, setting one’s eyes on the right things counts alot, it determines the progress and achievements that one will make in life.

One’s time, money and efforts go in the direction of the things that he looks at and on the thoughts that he thinks about. For instance, if you happen to harbour certain negative thoughts in your mind for a while, the more you will practice experiencing that negative scenario. And if you continually  ponder over it will begin to have a toll on your life.  You will start to look at yourself and at things around you throught the lenses of that negativity. Furthermore, you may start to undermine your own abilities, you will see whatever you do as being not good enough and also that you can never excel in life.

Paul the Apostle writes in Philippians 4:8 is [Tlb] “And now, brothers, as I close this letter, let me say this one more thing: Fix your thoughts on what is true and good and right. Think about things that are pure and lovely, and dwell on the fine, good things in others. Think about all you can praise God for and be glad about.“
